Anusha Karaan

Foundation Stage Teacher & FS.2 Team Leader

Anusha is a qualified Foundation Stage teacher, obtaining her degree at the College of Athlone in South Africa in 1989. This gives her 30 years of experience working in government, Special Skill Development, training, and International schools.

After launching her career in South Africa, she moved to the United Kingdom in 2002 to continue her passion for teaching and enriched herself with a few courses and teaching degrees whilst pursuing a career.

She further pursued a Bachelor of Arts in Special Needs and came back to South Africa to open a Special Skills development school in the center of Cape Town and obtained her Honours Degree in teaching. As time went on, Anusha decided to make the move to Cairo where she has been teaching for the last 6 years.

Throughout her years of teaching in different stages and departments in schools, she has developed an overriding passion to ensure that all her students are catered for to meet their learning needs. She strives to ensure her students want to enter her classroom. To stimulate her students she uses a variety of methods, differentiation strategies, hands-on activities, games, songs, response cards, music jigsaws, group work, and quizzes.  All these mentioned ideas are used to ensure that every child in the class can reach their full potential.

Every child has a different learning style and she tailors the curriculum to their specific needs. This requires her to be very well versed on the curriculum in her particular phase of work.
